Last Night in the Chelsea Hotel

Something that has been on my mind and heart recently is how do our conversations impact our Tomorrow?

Theres a certain beauty in antiquity; bringing nostalgia to the forefront of conversation and art. This isn’t to simply reminisce on time past but understanding the wisdom through it all.

These weeks gone past have felt like an homage to those who came before me whether we’re talking in art, music, poetry, dance…I’ve been observing how the past has an immense power of replicability in today but my focus has been on the construction of a heritage for Tomorrow.

Over the weekend I was fortunate enough to support in a creative project where we shot in the iconic Chelsea Hotel, in Leonard Cohen’s apartment of all places. It was an evening of creation which was accompanied by newly found knowledge surrounding the rich history of not just our very environment at the Chelsea Hotel but it’s great impact on the art and social movements of New York City whose legacy still plays it’s sweet melodies today.

These are the moments I live for as a creative— full and raw in its actions with conversation which stimulate and exercise. To me, these are the essential moments where you have the opportunity to mold the very perspective which has been endowed to you into the work itself.

Last night was something of a micro circle bringing the past month together while tying it into the month ahead. Its been moments of gratitude for the ability to be in touch, respected and none the less given blessings by the very individuals who started the mission before me and who encourage the continued evolution of the plan itself.

Simply, I live and move for those who came before me…At least that’s just one aspect of it.
